The mission of Office of Sponsored Programmes & Research (OSPR) is to provide comprehensive support to members of LUMS research community engaged in the preparation and submission of research proposals. Bringing funding opportunities to the attention of faculty members and instituting a process of routing and tracking of research proposals / awards. As steward of the university’s externally and internally funded research portfolio, the OSPR is responsible for ensuring that all research proposals and projects adhere to LUMS' academic and research policies and meet its obligations to sponsors.

Hamza Habib, PMP
Grant Management Specialist
A professional in the field of IT, Marketing and Project Management, Hamza Habib is a pioneer member of team OSPR. Hamza graduated as a Software Engineer from the University of the Punjab and pursued his Masters in Management and Marketing from Nottingham Trent University, UK. In addition, Hamza is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and is leading and directing projects and project teams as per the international standards. He has been involved in the end to end implementation of SAP Grants Management Grantee Module at LUMS and is serving OSPR since 2010 in the capacity of Grant Management Specialist.

Grant Management Specialist
Saad is an ACCA (INT), C.A. Finalist who is serving LUMS OSPR department as a Grant Management Specialist. With 7 years of experience in the relevant field, Saad is responsible for Evaluation, Monitoring and Management of Externally Sponsored Programmes in LUMS OSPR department. Muhammad Raheel Siddiqui
Assistant Manager, SAP FI Certified
Dynamic and result-focused professional who brought technical expertise of SAP to team OSPR, Muhammad Raheel Siddiqui is an SAP FI & Sap B1 certified professional from ABACUS. He completed his graduation from Punjab University and is an ACCA Finalist. Raheel manages and controls all activities related to Grants Management Grantee Module (GM-GTE) in SAP and serves as Grants Management Functional Consultant for the entire LUMS community

One of the pioneer OSPR members, Mr. Muhammad Faisal is serving LUMS since 2010. He holds MBA from Superior Group of Colleges and is providing valuable support in carrying out OSPR operations. His main responsibility is managing Internal and external communication and functioning as communication hub for the department assuring that requests for official information are handled promptly.

Sohaib is an ACCA Affiliate from SKANS school of Accountancy. Also he has done Certified Accounting Technician (CAT, a diploma in the field of Accounting) from SKANS. Sohaib is serving LUMS OSPR department since February 2014 as a Research Associate. His core responsibility is to Analyzing and initiation of projects related claims in SAP. Additionally, he assists in the audit of Financials related to projects governed by OSPR.

Ms. Aonia Masood has recently been appointed as “Officer” at OSPR Department of LUMS to manage and commercialize Intellectual Property. Prior to joining LUMS, she was working at Zafar and Associates - LLP as an Associate Attorney where she majorly dealt with matters related to intellectual property, contract, and e-commerce. She has also served as legal research associate to Justice (R) Nasira Iqbal - a renowned legal personality and a philanthropist in Pakistan. During her service with her, she worked on several documents including Pakistan’s initial State reports on United Nations Treaties i.e., the ICCPR and UNCAT.

Ms. Huma Khan graduated from Government College University Lahore who is now serving LUMS OSPR as a Research Assistant. Her major responsibilities at OSPR, LUMS include content writing, editing and drafting of OSPR monthly newsletters, annual reports and report writing for donors and other stakeholders. Previously, she has worked with British Council as Information Services Advisor in Library and Digital Services. She is well-versed in preparing and supervising of programs, promotional events and activities; and also in client relationship development and management, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications.

Mr. Mahammad Naeem is serving OSPR in the capacity of Research Assistant – Finance. In his role, he is assisting OSPR in the processing of project related claims including reimbursements, advance adjustments in SAP in compliance with LUMS and donor’s guidelines. His expertise lies in corporate accounting, small business accounting and internal audit. Prior to joining LUMS, he was serving Maypole – Limelight as Internal Auditor.
